Microwave Theratupal

Ingredients:

* 1 tin sweetened condensed milk
* 1 tsp curd
* 3 tsp ghee
* Few strands of saffron
* 2 elaichi (cardamoms)

Method:

~ In a microwaveable bowl, pour the sweetened condensed milk, add ghee, curd, saffron and elaichi.

~ Then heat in microwave for nine minutes in total, taking it out every 3 minutes...gently stirring it (so that it doesn't get burnt).

~ Theratupal is ready to serve :sm11:

~ Preparation/cooking time: 9/10 minutes :P :P Quick & easy ;)

Is it Therattu paal or Theratti paal.. my mother used to call it as theratti paal.. Just curious to know on how ppl call...

Anyway, why do u add curd to it.. milk la curd is always not a good mix right....

sorry but what is teratupal ?

its not a fast food but a fat food... :wink: :wink: Too much of condensed milk with ghee... but it tastes lovely...... u shud get it in any of the indian sweet shop.. they call it "milk peda".. If u havent tried it, its time to take some fat... :wink: :wink:

Thanx Priyam, Shy Akka And Srini.
Since it's so quick wil definitely try it. :P

Silican,
It would make perfect sense to use jaggery as opposed to sugar
and to use thick coconut milk as opposed to condensed milk
on the Indian Sub-continent.
as both those ingredients are readily available and in large quantities.
and coconut gratings might add a different flavour.

well me is gonna try the easy microwave version :ee:...
Mummy doesn't make these kinda sweets :ahha:

Theratti pal can be done in 15 minutes only in microwave. Another method:
Thiratti Pal - in 15 minutes

Ingredients:
Ricota Cheese- 15 oz
Sweetened Condensed milk- 14 oz
Carnation Milk powder- 3.5 oz
Sugar - 12 tsps
Butter - 1 stick

Method:

Mix the first four items in a microwave safe bowl and stir it well to a idli-batter consistency. Place the Butter stick on top and microwave in high power for 15 minutes. Stir it occasionally once in 4 minutes. Excellent theratti pal is ready in 15 minutes and the taste is simply superb!! No one will really find out that it is done in this method (against the traditional method!) unless u tell them.
