I know most of the answers. (nejjama dhan) But was waiting for others so that I dont spoil the fun.(ada nambunga pa !)

3) Depends on what clock u use. If u use a Digital Clock, u can set AM/PM and therefore sleep for 11 Hours.
If u use a traditional key/battery alarm with hands, you will get up after 1 hour.

7) White. (cos, u can have a house facing the south only at the Artic circle. U have polar bears there which are white in color)

10) The Driver would be the person who answers the question. in this case it wd be "me"..Read the 2nd word of the Question.

Enna 6F ? Am I right ??

How quickly can you find out what is unusual about this paragraph? It looks so ordinary that you would think that nothing was wrong with it at all and, in fact, nothing is. But it is unusual. Why? If you study it and think about it you may find out, but I am not going to assist you in any way. You must do it without coaching. No doubt, if you work at it for long, it will dawn on you. Who knows? Go to work and try your skill.

3=2?
--------
3x-2x = x
let x = y+z
3x-2x=3(y+z)-2(y+z)
3x-2x=3y+3z-2y-2z
3x-3y-3z=2x-2y-2z
3(x-y-z)=2(x-y-z)
3=2!

Where is the fallacy :think:

arumugam57
11-30-2003, 05:13 AM
x=y+z ;
then x-y-z = 0 ;
you can not devide any number by 0 other wise it will go to a infinte value which no one can determin.

So you can not divide by x-y-z too.

Cheers.

Where is the fallacy

அஞ்சாப்பு maths இது....... :) aru is right...

arumugam57

இந்த அஞ்சாப்பு கணக்கை எதோ Oxford University World Quiz போல் நினைத்துக் கொண்டு இங்கு அளித்த sundaraveena இன்று முதல் Active Mmember ஆகிறார்

sundaraveena
11-30-2003, 06:17 AM
-6 = -6
9-15 = 4-10
9-15+25/4 = 4-10+25/4
9+25/4-15 = 4+25/4+10
(3-5/2)^2 = (2-5/2)^2
3-5/2 = 2-5/2
3 = 2!

This logic can be used to prove any two numbers are equal
Where is the fallacy?

sundaraveena
11-30-2003, 06:49 AM
your reasonings are right

just know saw that i am an active member ...thanks to everyone behind that
:D :cool:

dinesh
11-30-2003, 12:20 PM
(3-5/2)^2 = (2-5/2)^2
3-5/2 = 2-5/2

You are ignoring the negative square root in this line. Line 1 does not imply line 2 always. You have to do a +/- check.

sundaraveena
11-30-2003, 05:16 PM
right in the sense we do not consider the negative root but if one were to take postive root we could still prove that 2=3. It stems from the use of the identity (a-b)^2 = (b-a)^2 when a and b are different which implies what we are actually proving is only 0 = 0. there lies the fallacy!
