"extra virgin cold pressed olive oil" is worth its weight in gold :ee:
you can use it for thalissam in curries, in vinaigrettesto season your salads, etc...
you can also use it for your hair.

It is high in monounsaturated fat, so very good for you ..as fat goes anyway

Yep, u can use Olive oil for cooking. Its the main cooking oil for Italians.

Go for Extra virgin Olive Oil. Its very good for health. Tastes almost like normal cooking oil.

i use extra virgin olive oil for salads and stuff but not for proper cooking like curries and stuff.
ok, since paul asked for a comparison between olive oil and gingerly oil, can anyone help to know which is better or any other info?

you may use extra vergin cold pressed olive oil for all your cooking needs, it simply depends o your taste buds.

and have a look at the link provided in this thread, you may then notice that the difference between Gingly oil which is sesame seed oil and olive oil is their content in monounsaturated fats. olive has a higher percenatge of this compared to sesame seed oil.

Have a look at the link!

Normal olive oil is a bit heavy on aroma, and has a boiling point thats much higher than other cooking oils. So, unless you enjoy the oilve-oil flavor its not that great in taste.

But extra-virgin or lite olive oils are kinda low on the flavor part of it. You will notice it, only if you use it as a dip for bread or in salads.

Healthwise its one of the best oils around. Even better than Canola oil (which is Zero on cholestrol and saturated fat.. and low on unsat fat)..

Use it.. Best thing you can do.. :P

I very much like some bread (sour bread or garlic bread or something mildly flavorful with a thin bit of crusty edges) dipped in olive oil (with a hint of thyme or rosemary flavor!!!).. one of the finest appetizer breads...
