Hi..

Just my few cents...

Vandematharam by ARR (video version) might be a good one to show unity and prosperity of the country...

Sorry don't have the video version with me...

thanks narayan.
but the main thing is the song should match with our walking in the show .so we are prefering some beat songs with a classical or carnatic mix in it to give a much higher glimpse of it. Try to suggest in such kinda stuff.

thanks anyway.

ashok,
my suggestion is to go for rangeela theme music. its fantastic. goes very well for cat walk.
and also you can try alisha's made in India song. May be these are bit old, but when we did a fashion show in our univ, we chose these songs. it came out well.

Go to this thread (http://www.geetham.net/forums/htopic,16973,indianish.html) and tell me if these are the kinda songs you'd like. I've got lots in this genre.

Oh, and if you need a male model, just gimme a call. I should be free for a couple of weeks.

Here are a few themes you can look into

1. Kabhie Kabhie remix (it comes with a female voice). I think it is in Amithabh's album Aby Baby.

2. Dance of Envy from Dil TO Pagal Hai (especially the parts before it turns into a fast beat where Karishma dances).

3. The prelude piece before the swarams in Entharo Mahanu Bhavulu symphony version from the mallu movie Devadoothan

First 2 are tried and tested ones would work for slow traditional style , 3rd am not sure, just listen to it.

4. Andha Arabic Kadaloram prelude if u need a western style start.

5. The starting pieces of Beverly Hills Cop 2 theme. try it. am doubtful about this too.

6. You can use pieces from Maya Machindra too. not too fast. but the pieces are too small i guess.

7. There was a Discovery channel series theme that cools posted sometime back. That one the first version good too, not too pacy and complete instrumental.

8. If you want something like a picking up kind of music which is beatish. check Ishq Bina western towards the middle after the end of vocals. it picks up pace and is a bit western type.

9. check out the preludes and interludes of Tu Hi Tu in Kabhi Na Kabhi.

10. You can pick parts of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara if you are doing a national integration type theme for the fashion show.

11. There is a partially classical-western style version of Kuzhaloodhi Manamellam in Mitr-My Friend. You can look into the western half of the song.

12. Swades title theme might work as a filler - hear it and see how it works out.

13. interludes of Kama Kama in Enakku 20 Unakku 18, some beats from Yeno Yeno in the same movie.

These are few I can recollect now. vera edhachum irundha post panren.

Wow!! So many options. NS, looks like you have put together a big plan for show. May be you can discontinue your studies and be a fashion coordinator.

Ashok, you obviously have to mix a lot of songs. but without too much change in the rhythm. Else the continuity will be lost. Western style catwalks require a synchronised beat for the models to walk. So, percussion is a key part. Pick your songs with percussion and right beat.

My 2 paise thoughts.

Cheers

By the way, Ashok, do you plan to put up a video of the show? I'm sure a lot of guys here would be pretty happy...
