Though I have a huge experiance in Windows, I am new in Linux. have installed Fedora Core 4 recently. But I don't know how to install new softwares, programmes, games, etc from another CDs. Anyone help me? Thee is some small games with me. Will someone explane how to install it in Fedora?

do you have the source files? then its ususally, ./configure, make, su, make install.
or is it an rpm for your fedora?? i havent used fedora, so dont know if it has a package manager(kpackage for kde??). so you have hav to do rpm -i <rpm name> but the main problem is depedendies.

Since this wont make any sense if you are new, i recommend the free book RUTE: http://rute.2038bug.com/index.html.gz and the site www.linuxquestions.org

Hi Milan

The following link might help you to install many softwares. It explains all the steps to do the things systematically. I can not find a more detailed installation note than this. Even a Linux illiterate should be able to do the installtions. :b: we should really apprecaite Stanton Finley for this detailed notes.
