Guys, Most of us don`t know that Indians also took part during the second world war..here are some information about the Indians who part in the WW2 against the Nazis....

** Twenty four Indian pilots were sent to England during the summer of 1940. They joined the various OTUs and subsequently spread out among the Squadrons in Fighter, Coastal and bomber Command. Eight of them were killed in operations.

very intersting history. i never heard about indians in WW2. that too in German army. becos Germans were particular about the race by that time. i dont belive this information provided by sundaraveena. but some photo is there to show from her/his side.

Krish,

India did fight against the allied forces in WW II under the leadership of Netaji. Netaji's ambition was to get free India. எதிரிக்கு எதிரி நண்பன் மாதிரி Netaji sought the help of German army for driving British out of India. He did succeed to a great extent in running through British defences along with Japanese soldiers in West Bengal from Rangoon. But by the time the war was nearing end causing a disintegration of the forces. While Gandhi wanted Indians to fight along British. Had he also called for fighting against British, they might have been driven out earlier.

I am sure some of the Indians might have taken active participation in WW II and fought shoulder to shoulder with Germans.

Cheers

its really a good information. s Germans belives that indians r also aryans that too particularly from north india. Germans r also aryans. even though we dont have any racism in germany, but people sometimes ask about this just in curiosity. even some persons asked me whether i am an aryan or dravidian.

becos of this reason they might have accepted this i guess. becso as far as i have some videos(hitlers documentry) regarding this WW2, Germans even kept some test for europeans to join hands with them. Now also i am hearing lots of stories regarding this everywhere. nobody has talked about indian participation with germans. it is very good to know this point.

Wow.. cudn't beleive for a second.... never knew that Germans had so much appriciation to release a stamp...

I have read stories on Netaji meeting top guns in Japanese and German officials but as anainar pointed out, the timing these ppl joined the front was definitively wrong...

But its nice to think if history went in other direction.. What if netaji's army was able to break the british rule... we wud had a different father of India.. We wudn't be praised for all the non-violence but for sure something else wud have come in.... We wudn't have had a congress rule (or rather Nehru's family rule).. pretty exiting to think...
