A love triangle handled with sensitivity, maturity and finesse, the freshness of the cast, and the conviction with which they perform, making the film engaging to watch, despite a common storyline.

The three main players are Venkat, a youth admired by all; Meera who is attracted to him, but hates to admit it; and Nithya her close friend and room-mate who knows Meera's attraction for Venkat, but gets attracted to Venkat, when circumstances bring her close to him. Each character has been well etched, and each gets its own importance, at some point of the script.

Meera and Nithya share a strong bonding of friendship. Meera takes to Venkat, the new guy on the block, and plagues him with anonymous phone calls. Circumstances make Venkat believe that his caller is Nithya. His caring and affection makes Nithya respond, though ridden with guilt. Meera, who was away from the place when the incident happened, returns and now Nithya has to see that Venkat doesn't meet Meera and learn the truth.

Nanda, who played the second lead in 'Mounam Pesiyathe', gets to play the hero here. His good looks and ease in front of the camera, and his spontaneous reactions makes the character of Venkat interesting and watchable. There is enough scope for both Kaveri and Rekha (from Kannada films) to display their acting prowess, and both have done commendably well. Kaveri touches a chord in the closing scene, where guilt-ridden she confesses her betrayal to her friend. And Rekha in the final scene, where she reveals her magnanimity.

Disappointing is the fight scene thrust in to display the hero's fighting prowess. And the much-hyped dance number of Sarika? It's just pathetic to see this once sexy, talented actress doing an item number where she looks jaded and pathetic. Given a suitable role she could still surprise you on screen. Yuvan Shanker's numbers are foot-tapping and varied in style. Kudos to the team of Kalaipuli Thanu & Saba Kailash for offering a decent, engaging fare.
