Akkara adisal:


Rice - 1 cup
Jaggery - 2 1/2 cup
Milk - 3 cup
Cardamom - 4 (powdered)
Cashew nuts - 15
Ghee - 1/2 cup


Grate the jaggery and boil it with water and then filter it. so the jaggery will be devoid of any sand particles. Then make the jaggery thicker by keeping it in low flame and keep stirring it.

Meanwhile cook rice in cooker and allow it to cool. For 1 cup rice add 2 cups of water so that rice gets cooked well.

In a pan, add butter or ghee, then add the cooked rice and then the jaggery paste and keep stirring it for a while. once both gets mixed, add milk and allow it to boil until the milk gets thicker.
Add cardamom.
Roast the cashews in ghee until it becomes golden brown and add them in the milk-rice-jaggery mixture.
