Vendakai Pulikulambhu

Ingredients:

vendakai-cut into 1 inch pieces -1 cup
Tamarind paste-few drops
Tomato-1(put in boiled water & mash well)
Salt-acc. to taste
chilly powder,sambharpowder -each half teaspoon
coconut milk-optional
jaggery-small piece(optional)
onion-1,cut into pieces
For seasoning oil,mustard seeds,curry leaves,jeerakam

Procedure:

1.In a pan pour oil,add mustard seeds,starts spillitering,add jeerakam,curyy leaves,onion & fry well.then add vendakai & fry well(valavalapu poka varai fry pannanum-

2.Add the chilly powder,sambhar powder& salt &fry

3.Then add tamarind,tomato paste& allow to boil until the vendakai becomes soft

4.Add coconut milk,jaggery (optional) & boil for few more minutes
Note:vandaikai cut panni paper twel vaithal valavala poidum. or fry pandrappa 1teaspoon curd serkanum

P.S:

1. If you want ti bit hot reduce the coconut milk.

Hi

I prepared this kolambu and it came out very well but i did not get a thick consistency and i also do not know how to increase the quantity of the kolambu
The tips(covering with paper towel) u gave for removing the okra's mucilage nature has gone out and that was a kadi problem for me whenever i cook okra.
Thank u for providing this recipie .

hi sivam,

For getting thick consistency,

take 2 teaspoon of Rice flour,add little water to it(so that rice flour dissolves,and not much) and pour in kolambu...It will work...
