View Full Version : Curry(கூட்டு, பொரியல்) : Brinjal Godsu(கத்திரிக ாய் கொத்சு)

Mainly used with Pongal



Ingredients

Onion - 1 big
Tomato - 2 small or 1 big
Brinjal - 1/4kg small ones if using eggplant use 1/4th of it
Green chillies- 3to4
Chilli powder- 1tbsp
Tamarind-Lemon size
Salt-as reqd.
Oil-2 tbsp

Seasoning

Mustard seeds - 1tsp
Channa dal - 1tsp(kadalaiparuppu)
Urad dal - 1tsp

Preparation

Take extract out of the tamarind.

Cut onions,tomatoes n brinjal ino small pieces. Slit green chillies into 2.
Heat oil in a pan tamper mustard seeds n other seasonings. Then add onions and fry till it turns golden brown colour,then add tomatoes fry for few minutes n then add brinjal and fry for few more minutes. Add green chillies too. Now add chilli powder and fry for few more mintues. Pour the tamarind extract to it and allow it to boil until tamarind smell is gone. You can also add rice flour mixed in water for the godsu to become thick. Voila u r godsu is ready for Pongal.

You can add curry leaves if u want. You can omit onion n tomatoes n just prepare with Brinjal.

Yes aaru i have done this several times n tasted it,don t worry i will not post any recipes here unless i ve tried it myself.

Sri.. You need not verify sivakumar's posts. It seems he is from five star hotel family. See..his above post. Athap paarthaa etho oru mummy daughter-kku recipe solli tharra mathiri irukku.

I can say his posts are 100% geniune. I can vouch for that..
