Kara Bhoondi
Ingredients :
Besan - 2 cups Rice Flour - 1/4 cup
Dry Red Chilly - 6 Salt - 1 tsp
Cashews - 6 Curry Leaves - some
Oil - to deep fry

Procedure :
Mix the besan and rice flour into a smooth batter - in bajji batter consistency . Heat up the oil in a kadai. Hold a holed ladle over the hot oil and apply the batter over the ladle. Gently and carefully tap the ladle. The batter will fall as small balls in the oil and when it is deep fried to a crisp, remove and drain off the excess oil. Work on the entire batter in batches and obtain the bhoondi. Fry the chilly in some oil and powder it along with the salt. Sprinkle this powder over the bhoondi. Fry the curry leaves and the cashew pieces seperately in oil and mix with the bhoondi. Mix well for the chilly powder and salt to blend well.

Alternative :
Instead of frying and powdering the chilly, you may use 1/2 tsp chilly powder. You may also substitute this with 1/2 tsp of ground black pepper.
