Coulibiac: The Vegetarian Version!

Coulibiac (Koulibiac) is a Russian speciality, basically a fish pie. I was very impressed by the look of this dish that I decided to create my own vegetarian version of the Coulibiac! And it turned out to be great!

Type : Appetizer

Ingredients

Puff Pastry one block
Potatoes 1 large
Peas 1 cup
Carrots 1/2 cup
Oil 2 tbsp
Cumin Seeds 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder to taste
Salt to taste

Procedure
Heat a pan with 1 tbsp oil and fry the cumin seeds.
Add coriander powder, Turmeric Powder , Cumin powder and red chilli powder and fry it a bit

Chop the potatoes and the carrots and add to the pan. Fry and cover until the vegetables are soft.

Now add the peas and cook for another 2 minutes. Add a bit of water if the vegetables are sticking to the pan. This makes the filling for our Coulibiac.

Thaw the puff pastry and roll it into a thin sheet. Make sure that it is not very thin.

Now spread the mixture in the center on the pastry.

Cut the pastry diagonally on the edges and interlace it to cover the mixture.

Bake at 350 degree F for about 40 minutes.
