Srikanth the lover boy in Jhoot ‘Are u ready’ turns into an action hero. He gives a good performance and yet does it with restrain. This film heralds yet another action hero to Tamil films. Director Perumal whose previous film Dum Dum was a love story and it had Manirathnam touches but in this film he shows that he is equally at home in action subjects and shows a distinct style of his own.

Srikanth the youngest son of Murali an ex army man lives in the village. Srikanth is a sports loving person with a rugged physique. Srikanth's eldest brother Shyam Ganesh married Lavanya against Murali's wishes and hence has an estranged relationship with his father. Srikanth brings Murali to Chennai for removing a bullet stuck in his neck. Srikanth with the help of Meera Jasmine a lawyer staying in the neighborhood brings about a rapprochement between Shyam and Murali. Meera falls in love with Srikanth. Trouble erupts when a construction company wants the residents of the colony where Srikanth stays to vacate and for this they hire Fefsi Vijayan. Srikanth beats up Vijayan’s goons and the battle begins. The annihilation of Vijayan at the hands of the hero forms the climax.

Perumal's taut screenplay and a creditable performance by Srikanth make the film entertaining. Meera looks good in song sequences and also puts up a good performance. Vivek's comedy is hilarious. The relationship between Srikanth and Murali is handled well and the latter scores with his excellent acting. Fefsi Vijayan at many times overacts and hams his way. Vidhyasagar's music is catchy....
