    How quickly can you find out what is unusual about this paragraph? It looks so ordinary that you would think that nothing was wrong with it at all and, in fact, nothing is. But it is unusual. Why? If you study it and think about it you may find out, but I am not going to assist you in any way. You must do it without coaching. No doubt, if you work at it for long, it will dawn on you. Who knows? Go to work and try your skill.

    3=2?
    --------
    3x-2x = x
    let x = y+z
    3x-2x=3(y+z)-2(y+z)
    3x-2x=3y+3z-2y-2z
    3x-3y-3z=2x-2y-2z
    3(x-y-z)=2(x-y-z)
    3=2!

    Where is the fallacy

    x=y+z ;
    then x-y-z = 0 ;
    you can not devide any number by 0 other wise it will go to a infinte value which no one can determin.

    So you can not divide by x-y-z too.

    Cheers.

    -6 = -6
    9-15 = 4-10
    9-15+25/4 = 4-10+25/4
    9+25/4-15 = 4+25/4+10
    (3-5/2)^2 = (2-5/2)^2
    3-5/2 = 2-5/2
    3 = 2!

    This logic can be used to prove any two numbers are equal
    Where is the fallacy?

    (3-5/2)^2 = (2-5/2)^2
    3-5/2 = 2-5/2
    You are ignoring the negative square root in this line. Line 1 does not imply line 2 always. You have to do a +/- check.

    right in the sense we do not consider the negative root but if one were to take postive root we could still prove that 2=3. It stems from the use of the identity (a-b)^2 = (b-a)^2 when a and b are different which implies what we are actually proving is only 0 = 0. there lies the fallacy!
