    Default [vegan] Apple Crumble

    Apple Crumble.

extremely easy, so easy a 12yrs old with no cooking experience can do it
delicious with ice cream or custard.

    Ingredients:

    Crumble:
300g plain flour (sieve flour b4 use)
    175g sugar (brown sugar preferable)
200g unsalted butter (cubed, at room temperature)
Knob of butter for greasing crumble dish
    1 pinch of ground cinnamon

    Filling:
450g apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1cm piece
(abt 4-5 medium sized apples, bramley is very good for this...can also use gala or golden )
    50g sugar

    method:

    1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.

    2. Butter a 24cm/9in ovenproof dish. Place the fruit indish and sprinkle over the sugar.

    3. In a very large mixing bowl, add the sugar and sieved flour and pinch of cinnamon, mix well. Then add the cubed softened butter. Taking a few cubes of butter at a time rub into the flour mixture. Keep rubbing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

    4. Sprinkle the crumble mixture on top of the fruit in the baking dish.

    5. Bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes until the crumble is browned and the fruit mixture bubbling.

    serve with ice cream or custard....or just have it plain...enjoy :P :P :P :P

PS: you may need a large apron while making the crumble mixture
