    Default soap models

well this might be familiar to all,,,,but still my first contribution to this section......
all you need is a bar soap, and a carver and paintings......
just think of any cartoons ex --- micky, donald etccccccccc
on the bar soap just dot the outline of your cartoon ( seeing any pictures or your imaginary )
start to remove the excess soap by using the carver and shape it well,,,once you get the shape,,,all you need to do is painting
give colors as you wish,,,,finally search a good place in your living room to keep this model.......
    kids do love these......
People living in india can try this without cost since i have heard that some bar beauty soaps are given free of cost if you purchase other products..........
    glad to clear any doubts

    Great idea Micky.

    Butterfly,

try using a very sharp anf fine scalpel/carver
if you use a pure glycerine soap bar like Neutrogena, you could heat the carver a little on the stove or over a candle, wipe away any soot and carve. The heates carver should give a smoother edge.

Something else comes to my mind... When i was i school(err. just 3 years back ), i used to do models using soap... digestive system, human brain etc... I got prizes for the school science fair too. What i did was, I dissolved the soap in water by scraping it(its difficult for toilet soaps, easy for detergents) and after that wait for the water to evaporate(yeah, wait a few days..i tried heating it... but the outcome was disastrous..). U get a very good thick paste of soap with bits and pieces in it... just draw some diagram on a paper covered by cellophane sheet and apply the soap 'paste' over it in large quantities...
The thing is a bit clumsy and messy but you can make big sized models... i did a life sized model... You may need to apply glycerine to keep the soap from cracking... It'll be very colourful... green red blue white yello, brown..... Just something to waste time...

I've made soap models...it's really difficult to hold the soap cos' it keeps slipping out of the hand, best to cut the base part first, make it stand/sit...then cut/carve the rest..!!! :P :P

while i study in my college there is a competition like soap sculpture in which lot of participants will make differ varieities of arts in soap. i will try to present the picture in future.

but i think good quality will not work for this.. there are some hard soap for(may be some low quality for washing clothes ) will be mroe useful..
