    Isn't she lovely.. :P

One of the nicest songs from Stevie Wonder.. :P
(Stevie has plenty of hits songs under his belt.. but this one was on the radio the other day.. so.. )

Here is a little something on this song from Wiki..
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isn't_She_Lovely

"Isn't She Lovely" is a song by Stevie Wonder, from his 1976 album Songs In The Key Of Life. In it he celebrates the birth of his daughter Aisha ("less than one minute old") and thanks his girlfriend Yolonda "Londie" Simmons. There are three verses, each ending with the phrase "isn't she lovely, made from love" (or "so very lovely..."). The song opens with Aisha's cry and the lengthy outro features samples of her playing with Wonder and bathing.

The song, musically constructed over a standardized circle-of-fifths, is considered a striking example of the fusion of fundamental jazz and pop elements.

A cover version by David Parton was a UK top ten hit in 1977. The song was also covered by the punk band Me First and the Gimme Gimmes on their album Take a Break. It was recently covered by the a cappella group The Idea of North on their album Evidence.
    Cute, huh? Pretty nice song..

"For a shield from the storm,
For a friend, for a love
to keep me safe and warm
    I turn to you.
For the strength to be strong,
For the will to carry on
    For everything you do,
    for everything that's true
    I turn to you."

Not exactly a song I heard in the radio recently, but I saw this on a movie.. In America ( ?? ) or some such indie flick.. and the hero's daughter sings this in her school play..

When you think of an Eagles' song.. you think total rock paraphrenelia, and sound and what not, but in this scene as the kid sings this song, it was accompanied by a piano, played by a nun !! (Kid goes to a catholic school, and its one of their school plays!!)..

Suddenly this song took an unbelievable melody and sounded quite hauntingly beautiful.. I always liked this song, but now is much more attractive...

Song is about a person, who tries too hard to be free, to not want to love anyone.... If independence is perfection, the pursuit must also be relentless.. and the reward would be that rugged painfree wholesomeness.. Sadly he does not realize how this pursuit would lead to emptiness and desolation... Somewhere, sometime he should learn to open his heart.. and let someone love him..

Anyways with out further ado.. here it goes..

    Desperado, by Eagles

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
    Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
    Can hurt you somehow

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds boy
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get

Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison's walking through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away ?
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you
    (let sombody love you)
You better let somebody love you
    before it's too late

So, there is this new song.. from Five for Fighting..

Really cool, and catchy tune.. but even beyond that.. great lyrics.. So, ladies and gentlemen.. Here we go.. The Riddle, by 5 for Fighting..

There was a man back in '95
Whose heart ran out of summers
But before he died, I asked him

Wait, what's the sense in life
Come over me, Come over me

    He said,

Son why you got to sing that tune
Catch a Dylan song or some eclipse of the moon
Let an angel swing and make you swoon
Then you will see... You will see

    Then he said,

    Here's a riddle for you
    Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
    You and I...

Picked up my kid from school today

Did you learn anything cause in the world today
You can't live in a castle far away
Now talk to me, come talk to me

    He said,

Dad I'm big but we're smaller than small
In the scheme of things, well we're nothing at all
Still every mother's child sings a lonely song
So play with me, come play with me

    And Hey Dad
    Here's a riddle for you
    Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
    You and I...

    I said,

Son for all I've told you
When you get right down to the
    Reason for the world...
    Who am I?

There are secrets that we still have left to find
There have been mysteries from the beginning of time
There are answers we're not wise enough to see

He said... You looking for a clue I Love You free...

The batter swings and the summer flies
As I look into my angel's eyes
A song plays on while the moon is hiding over me
    Something comes over me

    I guess we're big and I guess we're small
If you think about it man you know we got it all
Cause we're all we got on this bouncing ball
    And I love you free
    I love you freely

    Here's a riddle for you
    Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
    You and I...
Listen to this song.. you will love it..

Not really ones I heard in radio:

    1. Velmuruganukku Mottai (Puyal Paadum Paatu)
I heard this funky song about 18 yrs back in a bus, had vague memories that the song starts with 'Muruganukku mottai'. I found this song a few days back.

    2. Pudhiya Paravai Parandhadhe (Thendral Varum Theru)
This is a fantastic solo sung by Swarnalatha, heard it on 'Ragamalikai' program in Jaya TV a fortnight back.

Songs I Heard from the movie "My Best friend's wedding" yesterday

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUyFZUKo6u8

    The moment I wake up
Before I put on my makeup
I say a little prayer for you
    While combing my hair, now,
And wondering what dress to wear, now,
I say a little prayer for you

Forever, forever, you'll stay in my heart
    and I will love you
Forever, forever, we never will part
    Oh, how I'll love you
Together, together, that's how it must be
    To live without you
Would only be heartbreak for me.

I run for the bus, dear,
While riding I think of us, dear,
I say a little prayer for you.
At work I just take time
And all through my coffee break-time,
I say a little prayer for you.

Forever, forever, you'll stay in my heart
    and I will love you
Forever, forever we never will part
    Oh, how I'll love you
Together, together, that's how it must be
    To live without you
Would only be heartbreak for me.

    My darling believe me,
For me there is no one
    But you.

    by Aretha Franklin
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some day, when I'm awfully low,
    When the world is cold,
I will feel a glow just thinking of you...
And the way you look tonight.

Yes you're lovely, with your smile so warm
    And your cheeks so soft,
There is nothing for me but to love you,
And the way you look tonight.

With each word your tenderness grows,
    Tearing my fear apart...
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose,
    It touches my foolish heart.

    Lovely ... Never, ever change.
    Keep that breathless charm.
Won't you please arrange it ?
'Cause I love you ... Just the way you look tonight.

    Mm, Mm, Mm, Mm,
Just the way you look to-night.
