    Default pongal sambar


    Toor dhal – 1 cup
    Onion - 1, chop it
    Carrot – 1big, cut into small pieces
    Potato - 2, cut into big pieces
    Beans – chopped - 1 cup
    Peas – 1 cup
    Tomato – 1 large
    mochai - 1 cup, cooked
    white pumpkin(pooshanikai) - 5 to 6 pieces
    yellow pumpkin(parangikkai) - 5 to 6 pieces
    drumstick - few

    and if u need to add other vegs, u can add. the more the vegs u add, the great will be the taste of this kozhambu.

    Turmeric powder – 1 spoon
    Sambhar powder – 2 spoons
    Tamarind water – 1 cup
    Ghee for frying

    For powder ppn:

    Grated coconut – 1 small cup
    Fenugreek – ½ spoon
    Coriander seeds – 1 spoon
    Toor dhal – 2 spoons
    Split Channa dhal – 1 spoon
    Red chillies - 3

    sesame seeds - 1 spoon
    urad dhal - 1 spoon

    For seasoning:

    Cloves - 1
    Cardamom - 2
    Mustard seeds – 1 spoon
    Curry leaves – 1 twig
    Coriander leaves
    Green chillies - 2


    Sambhar ppn:

    Boil tamarind water with sambhar powder, turmeric powder and salt.
    Once it starts boiling add the cut vegetables – potato, beans, peas, drumstick, carrot. Allow it to cook. After a while add delicate vegs which gets cooked soon. Finally add cooked mochai and peas. Fry onion separately and then mix withe the vegs getting cooked.
    Cook toor dhal separately.
    On the other hand, fry the items for powder preparation.Once vegs are cooked, add cooked toor dhal and then the ground powder.
    finally season it.

    The recipe seems to be delicious I hope the taste is also delicious.:p I'm going to try this sambar when I make pongal next week.:D

    I made this sambhar today for Venn Pongal

    Romba nalla irunthathu.. konjam chillies matum kuraichuten.. because it will be so spicynu..

    Morning Made, Venn pongal, Sakkarai pongal, Vadai, Idly, gothsu, "sanravi's" sambhar and coconut chutney.

    veN pongal, sarkarai pongal recipes ellaam geetham-la irukkaa?

    I made sweet-sticky-rice, which I called it as pongal.. :D
