    Default Low fat Chicken Drumsticks

I'm hungry. Let me not stop with reading the recipes and contribute one too.

This recipe is to use your oven to bake/broil chicken instead of deep frying.

    Ingredients:
    Chicken Drumsticks - 6
    Chilli Powder - 1 spoon
    Turmeric Powder - half spoon
Ginger garlic paste - half spoon
    Salt - to taste
    Pepper - quarter spoon
    Yoghurt - half spoon

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix all the ingredients and marinate for atleast 2 hours. Put it in your oven and bake ( for 10 mins ), followed by broil by 10 mins. In between check often to see chicken is nicely cooked.

If after 20 mins of bake/broil the chicken doesn't seem well cooked, repeat bake/broil 2 mins each, until you think its ready. Don't leave it in the hot oven, get it out.

No oil, as healthy as it can get. Tastes yummy!!!

    Jar..

Have tried this before.. Me likes.

I don't broil it for ten mins. I cook for 20 mins, and broil for 5. Just enough to brown. Not burn it up.

I tried this again yesterday, I agree, reducing the broil time is a safer idea.

NOOOOooooo. I have to agree that SSO ( special someone ) is a good cook, but this is my recipe and I make this. I had another recipe which I came up on my own, but this one was reccomended by a friend, which had only small changes to mine.

Also, forgot to mention above, remove the skin of the drumstick, as skin adds quiet a bit of fat to the dish. Its easy to pull it out with a paper towel.

I always have problem marinating the chicken. I just apply masala/spices on the skin of the chicken and it never gets deep into the chicken even after hours of marination. Do we have to make pokes and apply masala?

    Let me know guys.

Removing the skin is healthy but do u steam the ckn before putting it in the oven. Usually ckn cooks very fast. If u steam then it geta very tender. How many mins do u steam? Do you steam in the pr. cooker or steamer?

teena just in the steamer adhum not too much just enugh for the masala to blend into the chicken...then put it in the oven depending on the amount of chicken & the cooking time .....once u feel the chicken is cooked turn the oven to broil to make it crispy if u like it that way

I remove the skin and use the knife over the chicken to not totally cut it, but to help marinate better. 3 lines in either side of the drumstick.

tomato --> vegetable --> tomato juice that comes from tomato --> vegetable juice..
Egg --> vegetable --> --> chicken that comes from an egg a vegetable
