    Default how to name folders and file names in own language.

    First of all you have to enable unicode on your PC like this:

    http://www.baraha.com/help/kb/enabli..._languages.htm

    Then download this software.

    http://www.baraha.com/download/Barah...eSetup-2.0.exe

    The above software is unicode. Just select your language from the list

    Then copy from the barahapad and paste to rename the files or folders. By the way you can easily type letters using the above software which is free. It is based on transliteration which means just type as you pronounce.

    Hope this helps you.

    Why to go for a software? Here you can see below the reply box a conversion dialogue box with thaminglish option default where you can type directly and get it automatically converted into Tamil. The encoding system with the resultant tamil letter is given to the right of the conversion box.

    Just as below you can see every time you post anything.

    [COLOR="rgb(0, 255, 255)"]Conversion: thaminglish Bamini amudham Tam

    Conversion Table
    ================
    a அ ai ஐ nth/w ந் d/t ட்
    A/aa ஆ o ஒ ng ங் R ற்
    i இ O/oo ஓ nj ஞ் nga ங
    I/ii ஈ au ஔ sha ஷ nja ஞ
    u உ -ha ஹ na ன ksh க்ஷ்
    U/uu ஊ na/-na ந Na ண k க்
    e எ -s/S ஸ் zh/z ழ் ழ் m ம்
    E/ee ஏ kai கை L ள் r ர்
    ==================

    Copy the resultant tamil characters appearing in the box below the conversion box like this:

    இது தான் தமிங்லிஷ் ட்ய்ப் பண்ண எழுத்துக்க ள்

    How does it look like? I had notified this in other thread also.

    Still if you want to use Baraha software, activate Baraha Direct (coming with the package Baraha) and it will appear on the system tray. Opt the unicode and Language Tamil. Type directly in the reply box or title box using F11 key to set the option for the web browser or gchat box or any mail message you want.. Directly type it without need to paste it into the space on the web you want it. Here is the sample, but the fonts are not convenient for Tamil usually deficient in certain letters:

    இது தான் அன்த எழுத்துக்க ள் பரஹ (எழுத்து).

    Hope this is also fine. Uses some Lata or the like unicode font in windows. You can toggle between English (default) and Option Tamil or any Indian script available in the software using F11 key stroke to activate or deactivate the opted script for the page. That is how Baraha software works.

    With regards

    Dear Sri. HNB ji,
    Thanks for your post. I am already using the reply box thaminglish for my reply to most of my post in our forum. But I want to name the folder/file's name in tamil for the downloads from geetham without copy/paste style. Any way thanks once again.

    For that you can use Baraha Direct to type into the Folder you downloaded or File downloaded. But for that you should have your Windown Enabled Indic scripts support and in Microsoft Office also you should have enabled the option. Otherwise it may not work. I hope you can do it in the Regional Languages Settings in Windows and to type in Microsoft, yu have to enable the language option. Thus you can type directly into Word Document or Word Pad also using Baraha Direct. I am using it for 4 or 5 scripts alternative to English in a document.

    Why extra third party softwares? Just download Indic for any Indian Language and it works with any of the Office works and the plus point is that, if sent to another person or a pc, the file is shown in tact. i.e, without any junk characters.

    If interested, on request, let me upload Indic versions for our Southern Languages - Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, & Malayalam. (of course, Hindi too)

    (A secret: Even "Jagannivas" is using Indic presently. Is itn't, "Jagannivas?")
